It all started in first grade. I wrote my first poem on the back of some computer paper. You may remember the kind…holes on the right and left sides for the feet of the printer, alternating green and white lines on the face. It was 1983, long before personal inkjets and lasers became all the rage.
Fast forward to 1986. It’s third grade and everyone’s playing on their Mac IIe. I wrote another poem, this time about the Space Shuttle Challenger crash, and it got published in the local newspaper, among other things. I was hooked.
In October of 1988, I took the plunge and accepted Christ as my savior, then followed that commitment up with baptism.
Leap ahead to 1993, when I joined the school newspaper. Follow me to 1999, when I graduated from college with an English degree and a journalism degree. Keep following me through my career as a PR manager and corporate magazine editor. After that, my husband and I ran a small business on a Texas beach. Now I’m a stay-at-home mom who writes in between corralling a preschooler and thinking about returning to corporate America.
I’m a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and have won awards in several Romance Writers of America (RWA) contests. Professionally, I have also won awards from the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA) for magazine editorial management.
Whatever trail I’ve been on, words have been the path and Christ has been the foundation. It makes sense, then, that I’ve wound up here, crafting stories about people who get to experience the evolution of both faith and heart on their own trail of life.
I’m glad to have you along for part of my journey. Let’s start the conversation on what matters most — faith, family, and friends…and a few words about it all.

Hi Kristen-
Thank you for blogging about Leigh Jones’ book.
I am the publicist for Leigh’s publisher and am really grateful for all the great press she and Rhiannon are getting. Their title sold 2500 copies its first week on the market and is going into its second printing already!
If you accept outside content for your blog or like to do author interviews, I’d like to have your site stats. I market nonfiction & historical fiction for both traditionally & independently published authors and especially like to work with bloggers for the virtual tours I host.
If you’d be interested in collaborating on content from those two genres, do send me your site stats so I have your email address, okay?
Best of luck with all your endeavors and family life.
